Grossberg Company LLP Partner, Richard W. Hill, CPA, installed as a Board of Director with The Greater Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce at the 83rd Installation and Awards Dinner. 

Business, government and community leaders gathered at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda for The Greater Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce?s 83rd Annual Installation and Awards Dinner on June 16, 2009.  The event will began with a special hour of networking and cocktails and continued with the installation of the new Board of Directors and Officers, dinner, and the presentation of awards.

The 2009-2010 officers being installed by Montgomery County Director of Economic Development Steve Silverman include Chairman Lee Barnes of Barwood Transportation and Chair-Elect Patrick L. O'Neil of Lerch, Early & Brewer, Chtd.

Following the installation, the following individuals will receive recognition for their contributions to commerce and the community:
  • The Youth Award will go to Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School for their commitment to educating the youth and preparing them for college.
  • Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church will be accepting the Community Service Award their outstanding contributions to the welfare of the citizens of the community.
  • Sponsored by the Chevy Chase Land Company, the Dick Price Small Business Award goes to Chevy Chase Supermarket for their notable service to the community outside of the workplace.
  • The Rick Massucci Goodwill Award goes to the Classic Residence by Hyatt for exemplifying their spirit of good will through their years of participation as a partner with the Goodwill Dinner for the disadvantaged in the community
  • The Police Officer of the Year will go to Officer Roy Russell for his commitment to providing for the safety and welfare of the citizens of our community for over three decades.
  • County Executive Isiah Leggett and County Council President Phil Andrews will join Immediate Past Chairman Kevin Maloney on stage as the Annual Public Service Award goes to Police Chief Tom Manger, for his significant achievements and for his being an innovative, caring and resourceful public safety leader.
  • Sponsored by The Gazette of Business & Politics, the most prestigious award, the William Prescott Allen Award will be given to Thomas D. Murphy, President of EagleBank for his service and for his work toward the betterment and benefit of the community at large.
